Thursday 18th May
We made good time and arrived at the campsite around 1.00pm after stopping at Morrisons to tank up with fuel and get some bits for lunch. A lovely sunny day, so we went for a wander in the afternoon, then sat and watched the wildlife around. So far we have seen pigeons, pheasants, rabbits and muntjack deer on the site.
Friday
It poured with rain all night and in to the morning, but eventually cleared up a bit so we went for a walk up through the churchyard to the village. We found some houses, a community pub that was closed and a small shop where we got a newpaper...that was it, so we meandered back again and chilled out for the rest of the day.Saturday
An early start, up with the lark, quick coffee and cereal and we were on our way to the port by 7.15am. It was chilly but sunny for a lovely calm crossing to Hook of Holland where we arrived at 5.15pm local time. We had some difficulty finding our first night stop as our sat nav refused to believe we were in Holland, so we were trying to map read and watch road signs all at the same time, plus Booma Recreatie was not well signed so we drove straight past it, then struggled to find somewhere to turn round, narrow roads with canals alongside them are not conducive to 3 point turning a motorhome! Still we are now safely parked up for the night and with free wifi I thought I would make a start on blogging. Hopefully by now you will have discovered that Travelpod that I was using is becoming unavailable from 1st June, so I have reverted to the old one I used previously. Just have to relearn things.Tomorrow we are heading off to Bocholt in Germany.
